I love Aaron's family. I can't say it enough. They are each such wonderful people and when you are around them, they make you feel so good. I am one lucky lady to be part of such a great family. Every year, we go out to Rush Valley (think south and west of Tooele) for the Annual Johnson Family Christmas Party. Once the brunch is warming in the oven, the men settle down for a good chat. Aaron's uncles are such outstanding men. They are wonderful examples to Aaron.

Lauren settled right in with her cousins. She loves Jaycee.

More extended cousins playing with Lauren. She was in heaven playing with all the kids!

After brunch was over, we hand out white elephants. Bret got a pretty neat hunting hat and vest and a gun cleaning kit. Ha ha! It's Rush Valley, what can you expect?

Grandpa Orson got some super cool sunglasses. Coolest Grandpa I've ever seen!

Carol got an old pair of Grandma Jessie's glasses. One day, those were in style.

I love that Aaron got this Halloween wreath. I can't wait to hang it on my door next year. Ha!

Susie got the family crest. Well, its somebody's crest, and the Johnson's just put some tape over their name. Classic.

Uncle Lee got one of the best presents ever. The thing is, it was actually his birthday, and Van gave him this spear! One of the guys Van works with makes them, and he remembered that Lee really liked it and got one for him. Lee was like a little kid on Christmas morning (fitting, I know). He loved it!

After the "presents" are all unwrapped, the grandkids (well, great grandkids) do the nativity and we sing songs. I love this tradition. Cousin Stacey always comes up with the best costumes for the kids. Socks make up ears for the donkey, a shirt stuffed in the back is a camel's hump, a belt from the 80's helps keep the wise men's towels on their heads. This year, Lauren was one of the "heavenly hosts" AKA: angels. Cutest angel I've ever seen. She sat on "Joseph's" (Yes, Jaycee played Joseph) lap.

Here are all of the kids that were in the nativity. Such a cute bunch!

Since Aaron's dad and step-mom were up from Cedar for the party, we decided to venture out to the cold and see the lights at Temple Square. We stayed warm for a bit in the JSMB and the cutest lady asked if our family wanted a picture by the tree. I'm so glad she took this picture since its the only one that was in focus for the night.

Lauren loved the lights (until she got cold, and then just wanted to be inside where it was warm). She would say, "Ooooohh" when she would see the trees.

Next year, I hope we go when its a little warmer, but this year was worth it just to see Lauren's reaction. It just isn't Christmas until I see the lights and this year I went twice (once with the Young Women and then with my family). Such a wonderful time of the year!
